BIOGRAPHY

Tara Rose Morris is an artist of mixed Desi descent who combines her background in painting, film, and media theory to create video works that explore themes of identity, belonging, shared joy, and speculative fictions. Influenced by her Desi heritage, Rose creates with bold and vibrant colors, echoing the vivid hues of traditional Indian art. She weaves diverse cultural narratives into her creations, merging visual storytelling with media theory.

Focused on collaboration and connection, her ongoing series "MOVES" unites community artists in a virtual space, celebrating their shared experiences. Her artwork has been screened as films, single-channel video installations, and live visuals for musicians including Latashá, Kilo Kish, Heno., and Mick Jenkins. Passionate about teaching, she taught emerging creative technologies in the Bay Area for three years and spearheaded the first NFT Oakland festival.
